For coaches

A saved rink you can paint

Open RinkPad and the ice is already there. Drop players, paint skate and pass paths, keep the drill on the iPad, and send a picture. No account. The rink is never behind a membership wall.

From blank ice to a picture in the group chat

Built for the minute before practice, not for a season-long coaching system.

1

Place

A full rink is on screen when the app opens. Drop forwards, defense, a goalie, cones, and the puck. Nets are tokens you can move — they are not painted into the ice.

2

Paint

Skate, pass, shot, and carry are separate path styles. Lines are editable curves, so you fix a route without redrawing it. Pinch to zoom a corner. Apple Pencil works on iPad.

3

Keep and send

Name the drill and leave. It stays in the on-device library. Share a PNG when the kids or the other coaches need the picture. Closing the app does not wipe the board.

The rink is the screen

Tools live in a floating palette. Ads and the Remove Ads control stay in that chrome. Nothing is painted onto the ice.

Full ice and half ice

Switch layout for a 2-on-1 or a small-area station. Rink standards include NHL, IIHF, ball hockey, and a recreational 3-on-3 sheet. Those layouts are part of the free ice.

A library, not a cloud

Save, duplicate, tag, and search drills on the device. There is no account and no upload of your diagrams.

Undo is cheap

Miss a token, undo it. Select a path and drag its handles. Clear the ice when you want a fresh sheet — that is a choice, not a refresh accident.

Already sketching in a browser?

Browser drill makers proved the picture: rink, tokens, arrows. They fail the moment that matters — rinkside, gloves off, and the tab refreshes. Coaching platforms add rosters, 3D, and a subscription for a volunteer who needed one diagram.

Browser board

Right picture, wrong place.

  • Desktop page, fat-finger toolbars
  • Leave without exporting and the board can be gone
  • Save and extra layouts often sit behind a membership

RinkPad

The same job, on the pad you already hold.

  • Native iPhone and iPad, including Apple Pencil
  • Drills stay on the device
  • Full ice, half ice, and the shipped rink standards are free

Who it is for

Volunteer coach

Whiteboard, then the kids forget

Draw the 3-on-2 on the iPad in the room and AirDrop the PNG to the group chat. The picture survives the car ride home.

Between periods

Half ice, three tokens, one pass

Half-ice layout, thumbs, show the bench. Not a practice planner and not a roster.

Season of sheets

Find last Tuesday’s drill

Folders, tags, and search over names and notes. The library never asks you to sign in.

Free ice

Drawing is not a paid feature. A one-time purchase removes ads. There is no subscription.
